A Day in the Life of a Pond

Presented by: Sustaining Scarborough, Scarborough Land Trust & Scarborough Public Library
ASL interpreted
The visual description of the flyer: a pond with lily pads surrounded by trees. Text reads: Ponds of all shapes and sizes support a magnificent multitude of life forms, ranging in size from microorganisms to moose. Plants can range from single-celled algae to massive reeds. Insects, amphibians, fish, birds, mammals are all thriving and contributing to the mix. Ponds are NOT a study in ‘Survival of the Fittest.’ Every species we will see has adapted its own niche using the evolutionary principle understood as “Resource Partitioning.” Three logos along the bottom show the collaborators for this event: Sustaining Scarborough: Resilient, Responsible, Ready, Scarborough Land Trust and the Scarborough Public Library.
