
Join CorpsTHAT for a hands-on, 2.5-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) training conducted entirely in American Sign Language (ASL). This course is tailored for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, interpreters, and outdoor enthusiasts who want to acquire life-saving skills for wilderness settings. Participants will learn:
• Patient assessment and first aid for common wilderness illnesses and injuries
• Evacuation decision-making based on patient condition and available resources
• Scenario-based, practical exercises to build confidence in outdoor emergencies
Training is led by Deaf outdoor instructors with Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, ensuring an accessible and inclusive learning environment.
Admission Fees:
• $250 – WFA Certification only (no CEUs)
• $300 – WFA Certification + 2.1 CEUs
• $250 – WFA Certification + CEUs for participants also registered for the Wilderness Medicine Series: 3-Workshop Package
