Words Read: Joanie Grondin, a Deaf certified American Red Cross instructor, will conduct a training session for CPR/AED/First Aid in ASL. Instruction will provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first-aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach participants the knowledge and skills required to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. Participants will experience a blended learning session: instruction in ASL, watching standard American Red Cross videos (including subtitles), participating in group discussions, and performing hands-on skill practices.
