Fenix Theatre Company invites you to enjoy its 17th annual summer tradition of free Shakespeare in Deering Oaks Park with a lively, heartfelt 90-minute production of As You Like It. This professional staging of the romantic comedy is enriched with popular songs from six decades—spanning from the 1960s to the 2010s—adding a fresh, toe-tapping twist to a timeless story.
As You Like It challenges strict gender roles and binaries, and encourages us to open the door to a better world, where empathy leads and everyone can find belonging. Bring a chair or blanket, gather your friends, and join us under the trees for a Shakespeare experience like never before!

Our performance on Saturday, July 19, at 6:30pm, will include ASL interpretation. We will provide a dedicated seating area at the front for deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members.

Deering Oaks Park — As You Like It performs just beyond the footbridge in the clearing overlooking the duck pond.

Parking Locations — There are accessible parking spots along the paths in Deering Oaks Park. The walking path to the performance area is fairly flat. In case of rain, the ground may be soft. If you need closer parking due to mobility needs, please contact info@fenixtheatre.com for special arrangements as soon as possible.
