This training provides a broad overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the major federal law protecting the rights of people with disabilities. The ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in almost every area of daily life, to ensure that people with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate in society. The training will cover key questions such as, Who does the ADA protect? How does the law define “disability?” What rights do people with disabilities have under the ADA, and how can a person with a disability or an advocate protect them?
